Over a decade has ped since I crested the hill of age continuum and yet it just dawned on me last year at 53, I should be getting more roll out of my drives than I did before! Seriously I’m no physicists but even I know that golf roll further down hill. And I’m definitely over the Hill!

Despite my convoluted theory, the evidence shows that I’m hitting the golf ball shorter and shorter each year. Not only that but I’m twice as pooped after each round! None of this seems fair…not when you consider the thousands of rounds played, hours practiced and dollars spent on golf equipment and golf lessons. All for what? Not since I fired my last financial advisor had I seen and ROI this bad.

In a last ditch effort to salvage my dying personal golf corporation, last spring I made a rather large investment in a robotic mage chair. Ping through the mall after a particularly brutal round of golf I popped in to a novelty store in search of a gift for a nephew. Instead of a present for him I ended up taking a nap in the stores demo shiatsu mage chair!

Needless to say the nap didn’t last long as I was awoken by a pimply sales kid who wanted to tell me all the model I was sitting and the benefits of mage chairs in general. In my foggy, have asleep state, I politely mumbled something just looking and stumbled out of the store.

It didn’t dawn on me until the next morning what an impact that brief encounter with the mage chair had. For the first time in years I awoke without a stiff back!

A little research online and I found that most experts agree that a good mage can help increase your flexility, prevent injuries and help you recover faster from a round of golf. Experts aside, I couldn’t argue with the way I felt, and I didn’t want to.

So I did indeed end up purchasing a mage chair, but not that pimply mall sales kid’s model. By doing some mage chair comparison online I found a whole world of superior products. Now I enjoy a mage in the comfort of my living room every morning and every night.

Despite dreams of rewinding my golf game 20 years not coming true, I can say this for sure, now that I regularly use my mage chair I feel a whole heck of a lot better after a round of golf than I did before. I walk on to the first tee with a loose back from my morning mage and that helps to keep me from aggravating my muscles during the round.

I may still be missing out on that extra roll on my drives from golfing over the hill, but at least the enjoyment is back! And that’s what really matters.

Today, used golf clubs have become a more than viable way for one to get themselves a good set of golf clubs at a fraction of the cost of new ones. In fact, if you are relatively new to the game of golf, I would suggest that you never invest your good dollars in a new set of golf clubs. Especially if you are just starting out; you may not even continue with on with game down the road.

And if you do become hooked on the game and continue to improve at it, I can ure you that your golf swing is going to evolve and change for the better as well. This means that the set of clubs you feel comfortable with today and your current swing probably won’t feel like the same set of clubs a year from now after much improvement. In fact, let’s take it a step further. When you first begin to take up the game, depending upon your frequency of play, you may even want to consider rental clubs until you determine your ultimate desire to continue to play golf.

Fast forwarding just a t and now you are definitely hooked on the game and you want to invest in your first set of golf clubs, a good place to start is with your local golf professional. If you’ve been playing at a particular course or if one of your playing partners has a home course, this would be a good place to get started on your quest for your own set of golf clubs.

You can certainly ask others for their preference in golf clubs, but remember, what suits them may not be a good fit for your swing. This is why it is crucial for you to put yourself in a buying position where you can demo the perspective clubs before you decide to buy. There are several great sources on the internet for used golf clubs and the better ones offer you the ality to even test drive the clubs before you commit to buying them. Whether on the internet or at a brick and mortar shop, you should make this a requirement of the vendor you are considering.

For the younger golfer or complete novice you may want to start out with a half set of used golf clubs that will be even friendlier to your budget. If you are considering this option, just make sure that all of the clubs included in the half set are of the same make and model. In general, a half set of golf clubs will consist of the odd or even numbered clubs, a pitching wedge, a putter, and a fairway wood. For novices, the driver is not recommended. This is because the driver is the toughest club to master, so a three wood off the tee is just fine. This is the same for the longer irons such as the two, three, and possibly the four irons. For the novice or youngster just starting out, getting a half set of clubs is an excellent way to go.

In summary, if you are a beginning or novice golfer, there is no reason to be looking at paying the full price for a brand new set of clubs. The quality of used golf clubs you can find today is very good; and can be purchased at a fraction of the cost.

Don’t buy based on someone else’s preference. Make sure you get a chance to hit and play a couple rounds with a perspective set of clubs; and this includes if your are considering an internet vendor. Many of the better vendors offer you this chance.

If you’re not sure your long term commitment to your golf game, then by all means consider rental clubs each time you play until the golf bug gets its hooks in you. Remember your swing is going to change early and often as you start out learning the golf swing.

And if you are looking for a youngster, or you are a novice yourself, consider getting a half set of used golf clubs to get you going with minimal cash investment.

Saving yourself some good money on a used set of clubs is not only a good strategy early on in your golfing career, but it can be a good strategy for years to come.

If you’re like most golfers, you want to improve, not just hack around the golf course. The ggest concerns of golfers today are inconsistency first of all, followed by slicing and distance. You need great hand-eye coordination, balance, athletic ality and creativity to play golf.

Approach the game with a positive attitude and repeat affirmations if you can, such as “I play great golf all the time.” Don’t worry what others think or may say your swing; work to improve it at your own speed. Overall, you generally want to play golf with confidence.

After the ball is hit, the follow-through stage consists of a continued rotation to the left. Swing slowly and steadily using a nice rhythm. The backswing is a rotation to the right, consisting of a shifting of the player’s body weight to the right side, a turning of the pelvis and shoulders, lifting of the arms and flexing of the elbows and wrists.

When you swing if you have problems with your left knee buckling, imagine you’re holding a soccer ball between your knees. Ask your golf pro to evaluate your posture while swinging. Trust your golf club to do the job it was intended to do.

The most important thing the golf swing is the angle and not the strength that’s applied to it. One of the problems that most inexperienced golfers share is they think too much their swing. Many golfers who are strongly left-handed in their daily life prefer the right-handed golf swing.

It’s difficult for a golfer to practice hitting shots longer than short pitch shots unless one pays to play golf or pays to practice at a driving range or indoor golf training facility. Putts and short chips are ideally played without much movement of the body, but most other golf shots are played using variants of the full golf swing.

Turn to golf exercise and techniques if you want strength and power. Using a weighted club, make rotational golf swings to improve your power. Using some simple tips, techniques and stretches, you can increase your drives by up to 20 yards– practically overnight.

Sporting goods stores have golf aids to improve your game. Look for golf swing aids at your local golf course. Most of all don’t waste your money on a golf swing aid you don’t need or will never use.

You can find golf swing aids that will help you with your wrist and arm position. Be careful the claims on TV commercials and magazine ads; seek expert advice before you buy because they may not live up to their claims. Golf swing aids come in all shapes and sizes including apparel type accessories to correct alignment or a golf club add-on accessory to monitor your swing.
